Mission Statement

First American Art Magazine, LLC (FAAM), a publisher of quarterly, print and digital periodical and digital content, promotes and contextualizes visual, media, literary, and performing arts by Indigenous peoples of North and South America. Our content is accessible to and focused on artists, collectors, tribal leaders, art and museum professionals, scholars and educators. Founded by Indigenous artists, FAAM arose from a need for sustained and widespread dialogue about Native art. We are providing art criticism, news, emerging trajectories, and historical reflections that privilege Native voices. Our audience gains an increased understanding of Indigenous cultures, worldviews and histories, an exposure to the multiplicity of voices within the Native art world, and good art.

First American Art Magazine, LLC, strives to foster historical resilience, cross-cultural understanding, and reintegration of humans into the natural world.

First American Art Magazine's offices are located within the ancestral homelands of the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes.
